Remembrance from Robin

Gil was a man who enjoyed companionship and a good laugh.
He was a family man and he was a loyal friend.
He made everyone feel safe and secure.
He was a protector and he was proud of the ones he loved.
He was selfless and generous. He was easy to talk to and easy to love.
He listened and really heard you, he was honest, but kind.

He told the best stories. He was animated and always knew a good joke. His smile and his laughter were the best.
I think he enjoyed when people laughed and smiled because of him.

Gil had a reputation of being “cool” ... “cool friend,” “cool kid,” “cool dad,” “cool papa.”

Nothing and no one stopped him. He lived. He learned. And he lived some more. His life was what he called a rock n’ roll rollercoaster.
He is the strongest person I’ve ever known and he demonstrated resilience and loyalty having been faced with some of life’s most challenging situations and decisions.
Life wasn't easy, but he never gave up on anyone or anything and handled situations with composure and accountability. He was loyal and he always had the will to try. He was inspiring.

Gil could be remembered with a guitar or a fishing rod in his hands, or cruising backroads and having dashboard drum solos, or at a concert venue, cheering on his favorite bands, He enjoyed camping, and demolition derby, and visiting the casino. He enjoyed his morning coffee and reruns of Little House on the Prairie and Supernatural.
He was simple. He was sweet. He was cool.

I wish he got to tell you his story, because he was one of a kind. This world just won't be the same without him. He is loved beyond measure and is going to be missed by many.
